One thing I’ll never do: use text-speak when writing. I’m just shocked when I see it used out in the wild by someone marketing a business, service or product:
You can be the most intelligent, sophisticated person on Planet Earth, but if you write me an email that reads like a 9 year-old’s text message, I’ve already formed my opinion of you. Especially so if you are the face of a company, handling social media marketing or web content management.
do u see where i’m going with this?
Is it ever okay to use text speak as a marketing professional?
Let me see if I can put this gently:
This public service announcement has been brought to you by Stephen. Vader bought to you by @unmarketing.
